HARENG

Herring is one of the most abundant and most caught fish in the world. The herring has a slender body whose color on the back ranges from greenish brown to dark blue, while its belly will have a silvery tint. It is covered with small, firmly established scales. Herring form huge schools that move on the high seas but spawn on the coast in shallow bays. When caught, the herring measures on average 15-17 cm. Herring is a very abundant marine fish and one of the most fished in the world. It is rich in B complex vitamins, vitamins A and D, selenium, phosphorus and of course omega-3. Fresh, its taste is similar to that of sardines.
